Cunard’s Princess Grill vs Queens Grill: What’s the Difference?

When you upgrade from the standard Britannia cabins aboard Cunard, you enter the realm of the Grill Suites—a time-honoured tradition offering elevated comfort, exclusivity, and refined service. Within this tier, the Princess Grill delivers refined luxury, while the Queens Grill elevates the experience to its pinnacle. But what truly sets them apart?

Suite Size & Style

The Princess Grill Suites are the entry point into Cunard’s world of luxury. Ranging from 245 to 420 square feet, they offer a generous step up from Britannia Club. On the newest ship, Queen Anne, these suites are beautifully appointed with large walk-in showers.

The Queens Grill Suites represent a dramatic increase in space and grandeur. Ranging from spacious Penthouses to the vast Grand Suites (which can measure up to 2,130 square feet), these accommodations often feature separate dining areas, expansive private terraces, and even private exercise equipment in the top-tier Duplexes on Queen Mary 2.

Service & In-Suite Offerings

In the Princess Grill, guests are welcomed with chilled Cunard Prosecco and luxury chocolates. Your experience is managed by an attentive Suite Steward and supported by a dedicated Grills Concierge for all your shore excursion and reservation needs.

Queens Grill guests enjoy an even higher level of “White Star Service.” Each suite includes a personal butler to handle everything from unpacking your cases to serving en-suite dinner. You are greeted with Veuve Clicquot Champagne, and your in-suite bar is stocked with two bottles of wine or spirits of your choice, replenished throughout the voyage.

Dining & Cuisine: The Grills Difference

Dining is the heart of the Grills experience. Both categories offer exclusive, single-seating restaurants where your table is reserved for the duration of the cruise. One of the most celebrated features of both restaurants is the ability to order off-menu.

  • Princess Grill: You can pre-order classic dishes (like Dover Sole or Rack of Lamb) with your Maître D’ at lunch for that evening. While you can request off-menu items, certain premium delicacies like Caviar usually carry a per-serving supplement.
  • Queens Grill: Dining represents the absolute pinnacle. The menu is even more expansive, and your Maître D’ will actively encourage bespoke off-menu requests. Premium items like Caviar, Beef Wellington, and Lobster Thermidor are included as part of the standard experience.

Social & Lounge Spaces

Grill guests enjoy exclusive access to the Grills Lounge and the Grills Terrace, a private sun deck with comfortable loungers and attentive service. On Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth, you also have access to the beautiful Grills Courtyard for al fresco dining or afternoon tea, providing a tranquil “ship-within-a-ship” feel away from the main passenger areas.
